Dolls for Africa

Dolls for Africa sent to Nakuru, Kenya, March 2012
Seniors at Regal Heights Rehabilitation Centre in New York City and art students at Greenwich High School participated in our “Dolls for Africa Project.” (www.dollsforafrica.org)

The seniors stuffed the dolls and the art students painted the faces. One hundred of these handmade dolls, along with new clothing and school supplies offered by the Sri Chinmoy Centre, were transported to Nakuru, Kenya, through Reborn International. Its director, Mr. Jim Sherlock, rescued children who were living on the street and has given them a home in an orphanage. Mr. Sherlock said that to these children, a doll of their own was precious beyond measure.
